Damien Carter Photography is a portrait and lifestyle photography studio based in Rockville, Maryland, serving clients throughout the DC, Maryland, and Virginia area.

This policy explains how we collect, use, and protect your personal information when you visit our website, interact with our Instagram or Facebook ads, or submit a session inquiry through any of our lead generation forms.

What Information We Collect

When you fill out a form on our website or through a Meta (Facebook or Instagram) lead ad, we may collect:

Your name
Email address
Phone number
Any details you share about your photography needs or session interest

We only collect what we need to respond to your inquiry and follow up about a potential session.

We also collect non-personal technical data through cookies and tracking tools, described below.

How We Use Your Information

We use the information you submit to:

Respond to your session inquiry
Send you information about our services that you requested
Schedule a consultation if you choose to move forward
Send emails you have opted in to receive

We do not sell your information. We do not share it with unrelated third parties. We do not use it for purposes beyond what you agreed to when you submitted your form.

Per Meta's October 2025 lead ad policy update, data collected through a specific lead form will only be used for the purpose stated in that campaign. If you submitted a form to inquire about a session, that information will not be added to a separate marketing list without your separate consent.

Meta Lead Ads and Meta Pixel

We run lead generation ads on Facebook and Instagram. If you submit your information through a Meta Instant Form, that data is transferred to us directly and used only for the purpose stated in the ad.

We also use the Meta Pixel on our website. The Meta Pixel is a small piece of code that allows us to:

Measure the effectiveness of our ads
Show relevant ads to people who have previously visited our website (retargeting)
Build audiences for future advertising campaigns

The Meta Pixel may collect data such as your IP address, browser type, pages visited, and actions taken on our site. This data is processed by Meta in accordance with their own privacy policy, which you can review at facebook.com/privacy/policy.

Cookies and Site Tracking

Our website uses cookies - small text files stored on your device - to understand how visitors interact with our content and to support the Meta Pixel functionality described above.

Email Communications

We use Flodesk to manage our email list. If you opt in to receive emails from us, you can unsubscribe at any time using the unsubscribe link at the bottom of any email we send. We honor all unsubscribe requests promptly.

We do not send unsolicited email. You will only receive emails from us if you have actively opted in.

How Long We Keep Your Data

We retain your contact information for as long as needed to fulfill the purpose for which it was collected, or until you ask us to delete it. If you inquire about a session but do not book, we may keep your information for up to 12 months in case you reach back out. After that period, inactive inquiries are removed from our system.

Request a copy of the personal information we hold about you
Ask us to correct any inaccurate information
Ask us to delete your information
Withdraw consent for email communications at any time

We do not control how these services handle data on their own platforms. We encourage you to review their individual privacy policies.

Children's Privacy

Our services and marketing are not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 13. If you believe we have inadvertently collected such information, please contact us and we will delete it promptly.

We may update this policy from time to time. When we do, we will update the "last updated" date at the top of this page. We encourage you to review this page periodically. Continued use of our website or services after changes are posted constitutes your acceptance of the updated policy.
