Damien Carter is a Portrait and Lifestyle Photographer based in Washington, DC and capturing stories everywhere.

Welcome! I’m Damien Carter, a portrait and lifestyle photographer based in the DMV (Washington, D.C. area). For me, photography isn’t just about taking pictures, it’s about telling stories, preserving memories, and creating images that feel as REAL as the people in them.

From timeless portraits to natural lifestyle sessions, my goal is to capture your personality and essence in a way that feels effortless, authentic, and uniquely you.

Every session begins with connection. I take the time to understand who you are, what inspires you, and how you want to be seen. Whether you’re preparing for professional headshots, celebrating a personal milestone, or simply wanting to capture everyday life in an extraordinary way, I create a relaxed and enjoyable experience that allows your true self to shine.

I am saved by grace and I try to live a life that displays the gratitude for that grace. I am a husband, a father, a son and brother. I hold graduate degrees in both biotechnology and business. Which I only mention to give you confidence that I am someone who gets stuff done! I love to travel and see the world. It’s a great opportunity for street photography and landscape work that I love as well.

Faith and family are the two biggest things that drive me...

Photography is more than a service, it’s a collaboration. My role is to guide you, put you at ease, and deliver images that reflect the best version of you. If you’re ready to capture portraits and lifestyle moments that tell your story, let’s connect.

“We all die. The goal isn’t to live forever; the goal is to create something that will.”

Chuck Palahniuk

I don’t just take portraits - I create something meant to outlive us.
An image can shape how someone is seen, remembered, or honored long after the moment has passed, and I’m genuinely honored to be the one who captures these lasting impressions for YOU.
